Readiness Check
On the BeCause platform, you can check under the Certification area --> Readiness check whether your establishment is ready for a certification.
This is a step before you start the application.
Good to know about the Readiness check |
The Readiness check is a self-check, which means this is not your final application |
The Readiness check consists of the Imperative criteria questions |
The self-assessment takes about 15-30 minutes |
Nothing is sent to Green Key |
You can easily see if you are ready to apply, and then when you start the Application process, your answers from the Readiness check are converted. |
Pre-screening
The Pre-screening is a short eligibility assessment that your establishment will need to answer before Green Key determines whether your establishment can apply and to which category, for example, Hotels & Hostels, Attractions, Restaurants, etc.
If you are already certified by Green Key and want to reapply, you can click: Apply for certification.
Then you can start your Pre-screening process.

The Pre-screening is mandatory, meaning that every establishment that wants to apply for an application will need to do the Pre-screening |
The reviewing National Operator confirms the outcome of the Pre-screening. |
If the Pre-screening is approved by the National Operator, the Pre-screening will turn into an Application box |
